Precious Purse

I just finished this little butterfly purse for my daughter out of the new Lucinda Guy book. I love this book and recommend it to anyone. I am also making the striped hat in there and the flower hat for my daughter. The patterns are great and generally take cotton yarns. Just bought a set of the Denise interchangeable needles. I have been really wary of buying these, but I constantly buy needles so I thought I would try. So far so good. If anyone out there has experience with them let me know. Although chances of anyone reading this are indeed slim to none, still thought I would ask. Have to update my profile because although I still have 2 kids a husband, a dog and a cat, I am sans fish! Goodbye french fry.

Too busy knitting to blog!

Happy New Year. I have not written in a while and have completed a bunch of fun projects since. I made myself the Rowan Big Wool Suzy Sweater in chocolate brown. Then made a wonderful christmas stocking that I altered from Nicky Epstein and am now finishing up another Nicky Epstein stocking for my daughter. Hard to motivate to knit stockings after Christmas! With my son's, I finished it the night before Christmas Eve so I was so motivated to get it done in time for Santa. He is 4 so Santa is huge around here. Trying to figure out my next project. I used Sweater Wizard which if you have not seen it, it is incredible software that customizes a sweater to any size, style, needle etc. I may do a shell from that, or a summer sweater for my son. Any ideas? I was very surprised last week my my children's preschool was looking for someone to host a knitting party to auction off at our annual auction. I jumped at the chance to do that. Hope someone bids! I hope that means more young people are continuing to get interested in knitting.

Rowan Dumpling Sweater

Before the Suzy, I did the Dumpling sweater for my daugher. So cute, but the Rowan pattern wording is a little annoying at times.

Done, Done, Done!!

I just finished the Suzy Sweater from the Rowan Big Wool book and it is amazing. Next up, a stocking for my son. Unfortunately, I just tried to start and the chennile I am using for the cuff is way too white instead of winter white. Guess its back to the yarn store.
